There are stunt jumps and then there’s this. Filmed in Washington State at Evergreen Speedway, it shows a sleeper cab equipped semi truck (an International perhaps?) gaining a full head of steam around the outside of the circle track and launching skyward much to the delight of everyone in attendance. The landing is slightly more violent than a plane crash and we literally cannot imagine the hell the driver experienced when the truck came back to Earth.
We do not know how far it flew but it is kind of amazing how level it stayed. We figured the massive weight of the big diesel engine in the nose would make it auger in, but it didn’t do that at all.
Would you have the guts to do this stunt?
Thanks to John Rasmussen for the tip!
Here are multiple videos of the jump. The first is the best.
