Well we're done for the day. We're going to sign off and start the thrash to get ourselves situated to bring you awesome live streaming coverage of the 52nd March Meet at Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California, starting when racing begins tomorrow. Just to keep your heart rate up until then, we're dropping two killer videos featuring action from the 1963 and 1966 March Meets.
While lots of stuff has changed over the years, Famoso Raceway remains in the top two or three coolest drag strips in the world and the March Meet holds onto the spot as one of the sport's most enduring and traditionally awesome event.
Check out these videos and make plans to park yourself on BangShift.com this weekend to follow all the action at The Patch! See the live streaming video broadcast here, March 5-7.

63 meet was the first I attended and got my first big announcing break. The event's two regular announcers, Bernie Mather and Al Caldwell, got food poisoning and could not continue past 10:00 AM Sunday. When Bernie called me up to the tower I couldn't believe it. Sunday, at the March Meet, all my heroes in the pits, a house packed with excited and appreciative fans. It was like being the last one standing on "American Idol", a life-changing experience!
