Transmissions really bear the brunt of a lot of automotive abuse. Mud bogging may be one of the harshest environs for a slush box to operate in. This video proves that statement in a damned graphic manner. It featured a large Lincoln bodied trar attempting to slog though a pretty deep mud pit.
After making it a pretty fair way through the slop, the Lincoln grinds to a halt, but the driver, undaunted keeps his foot planted to the carpet. His strategy starts to backfire when the motor keeps working but the wheels stop turning. Seconds later there is a nice smokey pop followed by a big flaming boom and one creeped out mud bogger abandoning ship into the mud.
