Video: Wheelstanding, Semi-Truck Street RacingBy Brian Lohnes Posted 10/01/09
There's an event held up in Quebec, Canada called the Rodeo du Caminos. Translated, that means "The Truck Rodeo." It's a huge celebration of big rigs that draws tens of thousands of people, hundreds of trucks and more beer than some small countries stockpile. And it all happens on public streets.
The featured part of the event is a hill climb/drag race. It is run with trucks both loaded and bobtail. While the bobtail races certainly produce much higher speeds, the sheer abuse that the trucks are put through with the loaded trailers is amazing.
In the video below you'll see a couple of the competitors launching from the standard drag race style start and power up the hill. To say that these guys are moving some fuel is an understatement. They are producing enough smoke to block out the sun for a week. Also note just how close the people are to the trucks, which pull the wheels in violent, twisting action. This is wildness and one of the most brutal illustrations of raw torque you'll ever see.

Looks like it was a wild ride. Driver must of had his feet glued to the pedals and his hands to the wheel and shifter. :D
