Awesome Video: Two Sons Track Down The Impala Their Father Bought New in 1965

Lots of us in this hobby have a strong emotional connection to a specific vehicle in our past. In my case it is the 1964 Pontiac GTO my dad restored when I was a wee lad. In the case of the two sons in this video produced by Chevrolet, it is the 1965 Impala SS, packing a four speed and 396 power. Their dad bought the car off the showroom floor in 1965 and drove it for 20 years, loving every mile.

Unfortunately, he had to sell the car when money got tight around the house and when it left, so did a piece of the boy’s childhood. Like good car guys, they never forgot about the Impala. The smells, the sounds, and the feel of rolling down the road with their pop haunted them enough that when they had the cash and the time, they went about find the car.

The crazy part? They actually found it and they surprised their pop with it. We cried like wimps when the dad gets the car back. Powerful stuff. If this doesn’t personify the whole, “Chevy Runs Deep” campaign, we don’t know what does.

Thanks to Seth for the tip!
