(Words and photos by Greg Rourke) – This Sunday was the Old Gold Cruisers Halloween car show. It was held at the Batavia, Illinois VFW hall. Old Gold Cruisers have been running car shows and cruise nights in the Chicago suburbs for a long time, and they know what they are doing. 50/50 raffles, lots of trophies, good music and food. This was the last show of the year, with $500 going to the points leader for the year, and payouts down to fifth place. I’m hoping the photos of the fuel injected 292 in the 1950 Suburban will remind Brian to keep up with Brutus in between beatings on Buford T. Justice!
