eBay Find: The Camaero, a 1968 Camaro Powered by Olds 455 Mounted in the Trunk!

One of the craziest and most unique 1968 Camaros of all time, the so-called “Camaero” is for sale on eBay. The car has a 455ci Olds engine mounted where the rear seat and trunk area would normally be, a highly modified body, and a track record of long hauling Power Tours and racking up miles on the road. The handiwork to make this happen and work so wel is pretty amazing, the fact that it was done by a dude in his home shop is even cooler.

Sadly, the original builder has passed away and the car is being sold to raise funds for the seller’s mother. Otherwise, we have to believe that the car would still be rolling down the highway and long hauling Power Tours still.

The styling is certainy a love it/hate it type situation. Dimensionally speaking, the body has been stretched 10″, the wheel base has been modified by 3.5″, and we’re not sure because the ad does not say, but the body seems to have been widened as well.

Acccording to the seller, the car has not been driven all that much of late, but he did take it for a recent 50 mile drive and reports that all is still well with the Camaero. Currently, the bidding has crested $26,000 but we have a strong feeling that the family is look for a whole lot more than that.

So what do you think? Is this car all that or just too far out there to be worth much?
