Crash Sequence Photos: Two Cars Smashing the Guardrail at the 2010 March MeetBy Chad Posted 03/4/2010
In our photos of the 2010 March Meet at Auto Club Famoso Raceway, we happened to catch two photo sequences of cars hanging a hard right into the pit side guardrail. We don't have details on the drivers or cars, but in both cases, the safety crew was right there and it was reported that neither driver was injured. Read More >

Event Coverage: The 2010 Goldenchild Nationals Snowmobile Ice Drag RaceBy Brian Lohnes, Photos: Denis LeBlanc, Brian Lohnes, Jay Spinella Posted 03/1/2010
We had no idea what to expect when we headed north with two of our photographer buddies to cover the 2010 Goldenchild Nationals, an eighth-mile snowmobile drag race held on a frozen lake in Vermont. It blew our mental doors off. We also froze our gearhead asses off, but that was a small price to pay to hang out at one of the coolest grassroots drag races we have ever attended, and that's saying something, because we've been to lots. The Big Three Swap Meet has been going on since 1966 when a couple of car clubs got together to swap and sell parts in an old shopping center parking lot. Since then it has grown to fill the parking lot of Qualcomm (we still call it Jack Murphy) Stadium in San Diego. This is one monster of an event and we've got a few hundred photos to show you the whole scene. Read More >
2010 Detroit Autorama Wrap-Up and Photos of the Hot Rodding Load-OutBy Chad Posted 03/1/2010
OK, that's it. We've covered every inch of the 2010 Detroit Autorama for three days, and tonight was the end of it with the traditional exiting of all the hot rods out of Cobo Hall and into the snowy Detroit winter night. We've heard great stories of the load-out night turning into a pretty good show in itself, but this year all the drivers were sadly pretty tame as they left the building. That didn't stop us from getting a final photo gallery of some of Autorama's cars in action on the street. It's a nice end to a great weekend. Read More >
857 Photos of the 2010 Detroit AutoramaBy Chad Posted 02/28/2010
We've been here at the 2010 Detroit Autorama for two days so far, soaking up the Midwest's first big car get-together of the year and snapping photos until we're ready to just saw off our worn out trigger finger. And we've been walking the show floor in Cobo Hall so much that our feet are worn off down to the ankle. That's what it took to bring you this first batch of coverage with 730-plus photos from the show. Read More >
Photo Gallery: Galpin Auto Sports Collection, Including Ed Roth and Von Dutch StuffBy Chad Reynolds Posted 02/24/2010
Galpin Auto Sports is most often known for one of two things. Being the biggest and baddest Ford dealership on the planet is one, and the other is the reputation they have for building weirdo cars. Yep, we said it. Weirdo cars. Pimp My Ride, the popular MTV automotive makeover show calls Galpin Auto Sports home, and is responsible for some strange creations. But what people may not know is that Galpin also has a killer collection of classics, muscle cars, and customs including the famous Roth Orbitron. Read More >
Photo Gallery: The February Long Beach Swap Meet Car Corral By Scott Liggett Posted 02/18/2010
It takes a lot to get us moving on a weekend morning before the sun begins to rise, but the legendary Long Beach Swap Meet is totally worth the effort. While BangShifters in most other parts of the country wake up to snowbanks and ice, we're lucky enough to throw on a sweatshirt and hit the road to oogle at cool hot rods, muscle cars, and classics for sale at Long Beach. Don't hate us because we're warm. Read More >
Event Coverage: Philadelphia's Motorsports Expo 2010 By Brian Lohnes Posted 02/2/2010
This year marks the 25th Len Sammons Motorsports Race Car and Trade Show held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania. The locals just call the show "Motorsports," and it's jammed with historic and current cars like midgets, dirt modifieds, sprinters, outlaws, karts, road racers and even drag racers. It looks like the kind of thing any real BangShifter would go nuts for. Read More >

Killer Gallery: The 2009 ADRL Season in PhotosBy Brian Lohnes Posted 01/29/2010
If you're going to have a conversation about professional drag racing these days, it damn well better include the ADRL. As the fastest growing and (in our opinion) most exciting drag racing series in the US, the ADRL has been dominating the door slammer headlines for the last several years. We're lucky enough to be pals with Ian Tocher, the VP of Publications for the organization. He's a BangShift.com member as well! Ian was cool enough to supply us with a kick ass selection of photos from the 2009 season. Read More >
