Pop starting a stick shift car with a dead battery is like BangShift 101. Hell, both Chad and I have owned vehicles that ONLY started this way for months at a time. I used to park my truck in college on a hill just for this reason. Anywho, a video showed up on the BangShift forums that highlighs an entertaining, yet death defying technique that takes the place of the simple bump start.
This group of potentially vodka addled Russians wrap a rope around the front tire of their awful little Russian car and yank it like they were firing up a Snapper lawn mower. Oh, the car is hiked up on a jack in some sort of a grassy field for added danger and fun.
While this looks fun and interesting, we’re begging you not to do it. If you own a little 2,000lb shitbox like these guys, have a couple fat guys push it and then pop the clutch in first.

I personally like to use 2nd gear… That seems to keep my nose off the steering wheel better.
