Thursday Time Killer: The Devil at Your Heels - The Story Behind the Failed One Mile Car Jump

We’ve all seen the short clip of the infamous failed one-mile car jump at the St Lawrece Seaway in Canada. The big bizarre Lincoln with winglets disintegrating in mid air, only traveling 500 feet before smashing into the water. What you have not seen is the amazing story behind that moment and how it was literally stolen from the man who made it all happen.

This is an hour and a half documentary of everything that lead up to the failed jump. It is the story of Ken Carter, the man who conceived the idea, raised all the money, did all the work, and had the actual jump taken from him by a camera crew that was afraid he would chicken out and not actual try the stunt. Another stunt man named Kenny Powers was stuck in the seat and actually made the jump with the known disasterous results.

This movie totally rules and is worth every second of your time to watch! You’ll see some incredible stuff, like Carter driving a hydrogen peroxide rocket funny car in jeans and a t-shirt at full speed after about 20 minutes of instruction. Ah, the 1970s!

We can’t emphasize how cool this movie is. It would make an awesome feature film. A great story with a crazy twist at the end.
