It is rare that a YouTube video can have seven minutes of total awesomeness but this one does. This is footage of a pre-race stunt filmed at Bristol in 1980. The stunt is simple, jumping an old school bus over 20 parked motorcycles. There is action, flying school buses, unintentional humor, and porn star mustaches a-aplenty. The bus is powered by a Chevy 427 and the driver of said bus was once employed as a municipal bus driver, where he must have really started to hate buses because he mangles this son of a biatch like none other.
The 26-year old man piloting the bus said that a physicist had consulted with him on how to make the bus clear the bikes. Turns out that physicist was his father in law! If you think that’s good, you need to watch the whole thing because every second is great. How good is it? Cale Yarborough is on camera saying, “I wouldn’t get out of the electric chair to get into that bus!”
The actual jump happens right about 4:00 into the video, but we think the whole thing is entertaining enough to sit through, and let’s face it, today is Friday and you need to kill all the time you possibly can.
