When Jason Lewis is not wrenching on his Viper V10 powered Maverick project, he is out making killer videos like this piece that he shot and edited from Laguna Seca Raceway. In it, you’ll see Tanner Foust in a drift prepped Ford Mustang and Mike Ryan in his giant Freightliner big rig drifting around the famed road course, giving rides to winners of the SPEED TV Dream Ride contest. If you spend any time watching SPEED you have undoubtedly seen the commercials for this contest and now there is video proof that people actually win it! We’re entering next year if this is the cool junk you get to do when you win!
Foust seems to be his normal drifty self in this video, hanging the Mustang sideways all the way around the course. Ryan is also a star in that big truck of his, especially when he manages to slide the big bastard down the infamous corkscrew at Laguna Seca, a notoriously scary and treacherous turn that has claimed thousands of cars over the years. The big Freightliner powers, sideways, right on through!
Pay attention to the guy trying to shoot a cell phone video in the cab of the truck. It doesn’t seem like that footage will be any good.
Thanks to Jason for the tip!
