71 lemas sport convert- fairly easy project- excellent frame, floor pans are all good- checked it out on a lift. the trunk is thin and has rust through, doors good, will need qtrs as it was doctored up and painted red over the original white paint probably in the 80s, lower fenders starting to come through, and some general rust in the nooks and crannies- typical stuff of an east coast conv't. runs and drives- starts fine- was stored nearly 7 yrs outside.. a set of points and fresh fuel is all it needed. clock shows something like 65xxx may be 165xxx but the suspension looks to be original and not worn to the point of needing replacement just yet. i've had 4 lemans sports... 1 other convt, the rest coupes- all were factory bucket/console cars with disc brakes.. i dont know what constitues this as a "sport" as it had a factory bench and drum brakes... the VIN and body emblems say it is... steers/stops, top is all intact and keeps the weather out- but it will need a new one as this one looks beat- its canvas with moss- not vinyl like i'd imagine it should be. has 70 GTO buckets and rear seat upholstery. interior will need a makeover, also needs a windshield, side and convt top glass all good. drivetrain all original and not tampered with- even has stickers where they were from 71...
car is from PA, was bought as an estate car- no title, but anywhere outside NJ, broadway works wonders... i have to have friends in PA do it when i need to use them. asking 2500 obo, interesting trades? i was considering using a solid chevelle rear clip i have and turn it into a chevelle, everything doors>forward is a direct bolt-on, and a little dash fab... i have a rear clip and engine options if that idea sparks interest as well. email me at [email protected] if interested
