if you can find a 28 spline 9" from an older bronco, that might work. i know the bronco axle is shorter than the ones in the pickups. most of the bronco 9's i think were 32 spline.

Isn't the Bronco a 5 on 5" pattern? You might find one under a Monarch but if you are keeping the Versailles brakes then you only have one choice and thats the salvage yard.

        Or call Currie or Moser.

versailes brakes are gone. its got wilwood brakes. so brakes arent an issue. i wonder if they know what the axle shaft length is? cuz its had to measure a broken axle

I would think anyone who sells new axles would have books to look it up by application. Just be sure of the exact original application. Not sure if this applies to axles, but Ford seems to like changing things in mid production year. Knowing the production date can't hurt.

I wouldn't try finding an OE axle if you're running a spool. Call Moser. They'll be able to tell you the length of the axle based on the application of the original housing.
