Greg - that's an all too common occurance - some guys just don't know when to put down the Torch!

Seriously - let's think about this - it was too much trouble to get a 90 degree grease zirk - so you blow holes in the shock towers?

Same type of guys blew holes in for exhaust bolt and spark plug access --- pulling a motor mount bolt and jacking the engine up on one side must have been impossible!

Great work! You'll soon wonder how you got through life without that cabinet blaster! Keep some extra nozzles on hand and have fun experimenting with different media and pressure.
There's always something new to learn.

No kidding. Everyone knows that's what hole saws are for. The lazy hacks!

Seriously, nice work so far. I like the lines on those cars a bunch!

Nice. I'm not big on pre-72 stuff. If I had anything, it would be a 68-69 hardtop coupe...

I started off with a 5.0 with EFI I'm now dropping the EFI for a intake and carb ,but I'm keeping the AOD trans and 355 rear gears.
The motor is out of a 90 Crown Vic I'm in the process of rebuilding I'm going to put in a new roller cam two stage over stock this changes it to a 5.0 HO and may bore it .030 over for a few more horses not to radical I also am going to run AC on this car.

Great choice - you'll have lots of inexpensive options for building and future upgrades, tons of room in the engine compartment too - and lots of selections for headers that should work without drama.

Great looking project!!! Even though I'm a GM guy, i love that generation Torino! It always seems that the lack of garage space and funds, it seems like the 32 chevy five window will never be done.... my dad, brother and I restored it in 77 before dad passed...I bought it from my brother in 88 while in the NAVY, and then with wife, kid and career change it never gets done... maybe Sean (AMeanXtreme) will get her going again!!!!

Looks like you are making progress, Greg! As has been said here already, they're never done! We bought my 68 chevelle convertible in 1990, started working on it in earnest in 1992, got it reassembled, painted, and running in 1994. When you actually use them, things wear out, or you just find things you want to improve, or just change up. This winter, it's a clutch replacement, which I'm not real happy about! Was a new clutch with only one summer and less than 5000 miles when I swapped in the TKO600, but has started slipping real badly in 3-4-5 gears. Makesdriving not much fun! There's always something, but I'd rather drive my chevelle than most anything else on the road today!

Greg - what kind of welder / wire / set up are you using? You're doing a lot of the same work I'll be doing on my falcon shortly - I have an old SP200 Lincoln and I usually run .030 wire, I have some .023 but need to find the right spool axle hardware to make the machine happy with the smaller spools, I finally found the .023 driver roller kit and got that.... finding parts for the old girl isn't easy - but she keeps working - so I'll keep her till she doesn't.

It seems the body work will want .023, but the subframe / torque box / rockers / shock towers would be fine with .030.... has that been your experience?

Milner351 what I am using is my lincoln SP100T 110volt welder with .023 wire and I'm patching up the shock towers with 1/16" sheet steel this thing gets great penitration and is good up to 3/8" steel. I do have my Lincoln power mig 255 with .035 wire if I need it but on this it is'nt nessisary you will have no problem with your welder and .023 wire. I don't know if you have a Wielder Welding supply house near you,but they have been able to get all the parts I need for all my welders and plasma cutters and I have 5 welders from electric to gas.
