Firecore has had outside companies test their wires to all comers for dyno
testing and has shown to make more HP... last weekends drag racing in Sonoma
5 out of the top 6 of the top fuelers run them and have said they keep the fire
    lit better than the others

Firecore wires are definately what we needed. You can get custom length wires with different style plug boots on each wire. On there website they have a documented 9hp increase on a dyno with there wires. They took the time to answear all our questions while he was driving to a race. What other company would do that these days? Best part was they only cost about $10 more than your other standard race wires.

They all light the fire on a low compression naturally aspirated engine.

But in high boost applications, we struggle to find a good plug and wire combo that doesn't allow the spark to take a dive directly out the plug wire. MSD's Hemi wires on our new landspeed car, on the dyno at about 1100whp started arcing straight through the wire. We had to go with Moroso wires and boots to hopefully get around that problem. That's with our, per TC, "wimpy" IGN1-A coils (which will arc a 48" gap, FYI).

I consider Lance Nist the guru of ignition. He says that the best wires out there have boots that cover the ENTIRE porcelain of the pllug, and actually touch the steel. When figuring out the Huber mustang's ignition, his advice turned out to be spot on. We found plug boots that cover the porcelain and eliminated spark blowout entirely.

Now, you may not be working on a 5hp per cubic inch monster, but the same rules apply. A good set of wires will last a long time. CDMBill is running a very hot ignition, so is Jeff McKC, and their choice in wires seem to be spot on - they've both lasted a long time.

I do not believe the "documented 9hp increase" crap from plug wire manufacturers, however. In my opinion, if you changed oyur wires and gained 9hp then you have some other issue going on that your test did not cover. Danny Miller tested wires on his 2009 EMC entry and found that, if your cap, rotor, coil and everything else are up to snuff, then you're not going to get a benefit from wires. It makes fun marketing but, it's BS.

He makes a lot of claims that seem to defy the laws of reality. In this rare case, you and I agree.

IF YOU HAD A BAD SET OF WIRES IT SEEMS PRETTY EASY TO DO. Who won the first EMC TC? Google it up.

Talking to Joe on the phone he is a good guy but full of misdirrection and what he calls Speed Secrets he will not just give up.

632 STANG, I'm glad that worked out for you. I think you'll be really pleased with the product and the service.

And, hopefully you'll post here again, now that you had the full experience.
