kinda reminds me of a time when we were starting an axle swap on my cousins YJ. We were taking his "stock" axles out and putting in one tons.
He had the "stock" tires/wheels (33x12.50) sold to a friend from Olathe. They were coming to pick them up and help with the tear down of his Jeep.
That night from 6pm to about 12:30am, we got the 4 wheels off and loaded on a trailer... and killed two 30 packs between the 4 of us.. The guys wife from Olathe kept trying to call him cause it was freezing rain/sleeting. She was worried sick I later found out..
He was to be home by 10pm.. His cell phone kept ringing, but because I live outa town in a valley. We "didn't have cell coverage", or at least was his excuse!!!
The next day, I took out the axles by myself..... with a helluva headache too!!

Rod... first thing I would ask is how much front end travel do you have... you needOriginally posted by R Munch View PostTo all my michigan racers especially mopar guys( NEED HELP) Took my piece of junk to quick 52 favorite dragway I cant get my 60 ft times down did head work this winter on car Pick up my top end speed by 6 miles an hour to 115 and the difference between eighth and 1/4 gain of 25 mph But the best sixty foot was a 1.9 2.0 Last year best 60 ft was a 1.52 never again to be duplicated. about 5" or more... next... hope you dont run a snubber... next... what shocks on
the front and rear... tire pressure is dependent on the rear weight of the carComment

You need to un-hook the front sway bar... stock shocks in the rear is not
helping at all... the more power you make the more you need adjustability ..
get some decent rear shocks with adjustment... what front shocks
EDIT
A lot of guys with the SS springs like the Rancho 9000 rear shocksLast edited by MR P-BODY; May 22, 2013, 07:33 AM.Comment

If you are running 13-14 lbs in a Drag Radial you are giving up et and mph, by way of example I run 18.5 as a baseline and if the track is working I can increase it and improve ET as much as a tenth.Originally posted by quick 52 View PostRod u sure a dog didnt piss on the tire at the line.. For R Munch, that is a huge change in 60 ft. year over year, is it spinning the tire? Did you change tire type? Drag radials wnat a very different chassis reaction as they need to dead hook to work, especially the older design M/T's. The Rancho's (now Calvert's) that teh Cal-trac folks have recommended for years was developed for bias ply tires. A lot of guys running DR's need double adjustable shocks to make the tire work well. Realluy low pressure such as Quick 52 mentions is usually a way to get around a shock control issue but it does cost ET.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?Comment

Sorry, read rest of thread so I know now you do have DR's. The other issue on the front is how easily does the front suspension move from rest at the starting line. If it is bound up even with the sway bar removed you'll lose rotation, and as I'm guessing the DR's spin and your done in terms of a quick 60 ft.Originally posted by R Munch View PostNo snubber ran 18 lbs in the drag radials , Have adjustable shocks on front end stock shocks on the rear. Still have sway bar hooked up Maybe I need to buy a farm truck his 60 ft is great!Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?Comment

The photo below is at Pomona last Saturday. The DR's have 19# in them, I'm running Cal-trac bars and springs with AFCO d/A shocks. the front is a loose as I can make it and I reworked it a bit to get max travel as the car is heavy 4170#, and nose heavy with the big block. I don't run the sway bar at all, its removed for drag race events and Drag Week.
I also relocated the rear shock position to get it more vertical and acting as close to the tire as possible to make the adjustments more useful. The factory 45* angle makes the shock changes less useful.

See Rod u can take advantage of the old farm truck with the flat tires... I don't know anyone running 18 or more pressure with any luck could be the shitty tracks prep around here most of the guy.s I run with use the rancho single adj. shock a few have qa1 double adj. but they are hi hp car'sOriginally posted by CDMBill View PostIf you are running 13-14 lbs in a Drag Radial you are giving up et and mph, by way of example I run 18.5 as a baseline and if the track is working I can increase it and improve ET as much as a tenth.

Michigan testing
Rod, Doc and I are going to Lapeer this Sunday for some testing, and tuning, now, remember he hasn't driven his shivvy in two years, I will bring a tow rope to get him off the track when he breaks something, any dragweekers that are not busy should attend, it could be really funny watching Doc.Comment
