    Re: My 67 Chevelle 300

Finally getting some time between holidays to work on the car. Took the plunge and pulled the old 230 six (that ran like a top.)

Got some cleanup to do here:

Powerwashing with snow on the ground and barely above freezing is not fun.

Out with the old, in with the new:

1967 Chevelle 300 2 Door Post. No factory options. 250 ci inline six with lump-ported head, big valves, Offy intake and 500cfm Edelbrock carb.

WOW! That is going to be sweet! I had the inline fever once, it was a 261 bored out 060 over. I won both the valve cover and side cover at an Inliners International picnic. Are you keeping it 3 on the tree?

Good to hear from you and see the project. The motor looks GREAT! Hope you don't have the "issues" (or is that "learning opportunities"?) I've had - steep learning curve! Please keep us posted.

Thanks! I am going to keep the three on the tree. I think it adds to the character of the car. I also like the idea of a floor shifter with the bench seat, but that will be a project for a later date. Maybe. I also think it would be awesome to have the built 6 backed up with 3 on the tree and a Gearvendors overdrive, but that is financially out of reach.

Here is another gratuitous shot of the engine. I ran out of money for the split exhaust manifolds and custom dual exhaust. That WILL happen, but need to let the coffers fill up a bit first.

Cleanup in progress. Worst area was under battery tray.

                        Dirty work!

Not too cold inside for grinding, but too cold outside for powerwashing! Will have to wait for some warmer weather to final clean and paint...

Pete,it would be a whole lot easier to just drop them inner fenders, and would be a much cleaner job now and after.

Hopefully the engine goes in soon. It's starting to get warm outside and there is lots of yardwork to do...
