Eric “Bigun” Yost pulled to the line in the ’82 Firebird that he and FW had worked on all night. It had a relatively stock TH400 in it now, but it had made the drive. He only needed a 14-second pass to win Pro Street Power Adder, so he was going to be nice to it and if it lived through this pass, turn it up. It didn’t live. Launching it at only 3,000 rpm he twisted the guts out of the trans and ran a 15 second pass that made Michael Roy the Pro Street PA champion. Yost, who had held a wide lead all week, got knocked to third place.
