2015 Chevrolet SS Gets Six-Speed Manual And The Good Suspension Bits From Corvette-Now If They Could Just Call It “Impala”!

2015 Chevrolet SS Gets Six-Speed Manual And The Good Suspension Bits From Corvette-Now If They Could Just Call It “Impala”!

The Chevrolet SS is a great sedan, but it’s been missing a few things. The lack of a manual transmission was the most obvious item, with a lack of a proper name coming up in second place. It appears that GM has fixed one of those two, allowing a manual transmission as an option on the low-volume sedan for 2015. Additionally, the SS gets the Magnetic Selective Ride Control system, which is already found on other GM’s including Corvette, Camaro, and a few Cadillacs. More improvements include some interesting new color options, including:

green

Regal Peacock Green…

purple

…Alchemy Purple, …
blue

…and Perfect Blue.

So, you get more colors, a real transmission, the hottest suspension pieces in GM’s parts boxes. A new rear gear ratio (3.70) will get the car up and moving nicely, too. Now, can we finally name the thing? Impala? Caprice? Bathurst?

Can’t wait to get one in 2030 for $2,000 bucks and take it on Power Tour 36.

    Haha!

Yes, we all know GM markets this car as a commodore in australia. Not important. I don’t know a “mob” is but there isn’t a better country that’s tunes LS cars than the US. The gts is a cool car but it’s close to $100,000 US. At that price it’s not competitive.

The SS is, and remains, the best sports sedan under $60,000.

As much as I like these cars, just would rather buy a Caprice PPV and save about $20K. Yes its not as flashy as the SS but I like function over form!

Fairly sure the PPV lacks an LS3 and respectable braking. Those two systems alone will annihilate most of your “about $20K” “savings”.
