BangShift Becomes Official Media Partner Of ChumpCar World Series! Your Home For All Things Chump Is Right Here!

BangShift Becomes Official Media Partner Of ChumpCar World Series! Your Home For All Things Chump Is Right Here!

We’ve never argued the fact that Chad and I are a couple of chumps, but we have now made it 100% official! We’re beyond proud to announce that BangShift.com is now the official media partner of the ChumpCar World Series and all of the craziness attached to it like drifting, ice racing, and the upcoming truck series which we are completely and utterly freaking out over because of how flippin’ cool they are. If you don’t know what the ChumpCar World Series is, listen up. It is the most accessible, fun, and prolific budget road racing series you can compete in today. There will be more than 80(!?!) races at courses all over the country this year and the premise is that you and your buddies start with a cheap car off of Craigslist, eBay, your neighbors front lawn, and then make it safe to race and turn it loose on the track at one of the dozens of endurance races that the company holds across America. We’re talking races that can run from a paltry (sarcasm) seven hours to a mind-bending 37-hours in length! You’ll see teams in everything from second and third generation Camaros, Fox body mustangs, Honda Civics, BMWs, and those are the “normal” choices. Some teams show up with ancient 1970s iron and try to defy the laws of physics and good sense. We frankly cannot wait to bring you the race reports, photos, and stories from ChumpCar World Series races in 2014. We’d been chatting with the ChumpCar crew about doing this for a while and we were finally able to make it happen, which is glorious.

This type of racing is 100% BangShift approved because it really promotes doing stuff yourself, being creative, and doing it with as group of people. This isn’t about dressing up, having a “theme” or turning a race into a costume party. This is about getting out, racing wheel to wheel, and doing it for the least amount of cash outlay possible. Lots of teams hit multiple races per year and “follow” the tour in a way, at least regionally. Clearly, the popularity of ChumpCar has gone completely off the charts because of the fact that that have almost 100 events happening in 2014 and that they have expanded their portfolio with the addition of a drift series and an ice racing series….which is super cool because the ice racing happens in New York and we’re planning on getting our asses to one of those events next month to hang out and make a nuisance of ourselves.

The company is working on a pair of truck series for 2015 that would include one for pickups and “normal” road going trucks like you drive to Home Depot every weekend and another for modified big rigs which has prevents us from sleeping since the day the concept was announced a while back. We’ll be keeping your abreast of all the news when those two series move closer to fruition. We’re beyond excited to be hooked up with ChumpCar and will be bringing you all the news about the series that you can handle. In the coming weeks we have more insanely exciting stuff to share with you that will make this announcement even better. We’re talking like bacon on top of steak kinds of better.

Here’s the official release from the Chumps themselves!
