BangShift Daily Tune Up: Stick Shifts and Safety Belts – Cake (1996)

We’re not sure if it is actually possible to buy a car with a bench seat anymore but if the guys from Cake could have their way, bucket seats and anything that prevented a passenger from settling up next to the driver would be verboten from cars. This is a catchy little song from Cake who gained major fame with their song, “The Distance” on the same album is a much more fun and quick listen. At just over two minutes it is the length of an old style car song and the vibe is decidedly old school. The plucky guitar moves the tune along while the lyrics which all car loving dudes and dudettes can appreciate will make you smile.

We do apologize for one thing. This song is so catchy it will bore right through your ear hole and into your brain!
