America’s Most Beautiful Roadster 2013 is John Mumford’s 1927 Ford Track T Built By Roy Brizio

We had the opportunity to meet and hang out with Mumford during the Goodguys Rodfather Tour, and can tell you that he is one awesome guy, just like his cars. Roy Brizio did the final assembly on this one and got it ready for the AMBR competition, and there is no doubt it was a serious contender, heck it was the best contender and the winner of the esteemed AMBR title in 2013! The paint, finishes, stance, personality, and all just scream great traditional hot rodding. We would drive the wheels off this sucker if given the chance, and can tell you that win or lose Mum will be doing the same thing! He nuts like that.

A HUGE CONGRATS TO BOTH HE AND THE MAN HIMSELF, BUILDER ROY BRIZIO ON THE WIN!

Once again political B.S. trumps a win! (actual driveability and engineering as well as execution of the build should be the true determining factors!)

  2. Old is always new again

The crowning of a new America’s Most Beautiful Roadster.
Another sign that winter is old and the thought of spring is new.
    Traditional reigns supreme for 2013.

Congratulations for considering the old ways and for keeping them alive.

This car has come through time to this moment, and brought the traditional look with it.Well done gentlemen!

This car was featured in bare metal in the last issue of the Rodders Journal, Brizio actually did very little work to this car and only is getting credit because he was the last man to touch it. There has been some of roddings greats work on this car over the past 30 years!

“screams hot rod”? That car screams “rich guy with a show car.” There’s nothing hot-rod about that thing.

I saw this car in-process at Brizio’s shop a few years back. Got to meet Mumford and see his collection. @Conor, if you met him, I don’t think you would question the hot rod cred of this project. Ardun heads for a V8-60 …. amazing.

I was rooting for the Mariani roadster… Ive seen it fly down the lake bed (breaking records) and to me thats rodding at its finest… They dont drive it on the street though.

It’s good to see the Kelly/Mumford roadster finished. I have slobering over this car for several years at So-Cals open house during the LARS. Congrats to Brizio and Mumford for finishing a car that took far to long!

I am just stunned at some of the hateful responses here. You think because one guy has more talent to build than you do, pays more attention to every detail, that this is not just the pinnacle of a real hot rod? Some of you guys might practice some manners, first of all. Maybe your mamas and daddy’s never taught you, “if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all”.
I’d also add, if you wouldn’t walk up to the judges, Brizio, or the cars owner, and say the exact same thing looking them in the eyes and face to face, you need to think about the person you are…

    To all the uninformed detractors here ;

#1 Read the article about the car in TRJ #56
#2 Pay very close attention to the details

    then…

Shut yer cake holes !!! …. its a brilliant little rod ! The only mistake being made is the one made by all the press ( Bangshift included ) in not giving full credit to Everyone that was involved in this gem from day one …. including the ‘ original owner/creator .

Congrats to Munford and Brizo. Attention to detail and choice of engine needs to be appreciated. Brizio’s dedication and love of Hot Rods following in his dad’s (the great Andy Brizio) footsteps is something to be admired. Munford, you chose the perfect finishing touch!! David Lightbourn Sr.
