Rough Start: The Dreaded One-Pic Ad – Is This 1975 Firebird Good Enough?

Rough Start: The Dreaded One-Pic Ad – Is This 1975 Firebird Good Enough?

Gaaaah! If there’s one thing I hate when it comes to surfing Craigslist, it’s the one-picture ad. It’s one thing for AutoTrader and the local newspaper where you’re paying for the print space, but for Craigslist it’s unacceptable. Three good shots should always be included: A shot that incorporates one end and one side of the car, another of the opposite end/side, and an interior shot. That’s all..three pictures. Simple, right? But beggars cannot be choosers, and you are surfing Craigslist, so here’s where today’s search has taken us: We’re in Wyoming, where the entire state is one Craigslist page, and our target is a 1975 Pontiac Firebird. At $3,000 the price is pretty do-able, and from the one picture the Pontiac looks a touch tired but good. The honeycomb wheels are a cool find, but there’s some concern. The ad simply says “new 350” for an engine, but doesn’t specify who made said 350…that makes a lot of difference. “Lots of performance parts” means that someone of unknown skill has been messing around in the engine bay, and everything else is a mystery. At least there is an offer of more pictures if you text the seller…shame there’s no number to text to.

Any 1970s Firebird is worth investigating, in my eyes. For the price, if everything is legit, the car would be coming home today. But what say you? Would this one picture be enough to sway your opinion, or would you move on?

Yeah, needs a paint job, that front fenders got a kink in the edge too. I’d be real worried about rust around the rear window on these too

Correct me if im wrong but I think thar car has a landau top and I dont think its factory. I second rust around rear window in this case.

I could very well be wrong on this, but I don’t remember a half landau top ever being factory on these. Maybe it was and I’m just blocking it from memory. Don’t think so though.
