Consider this collection of videos me exorcising a demon. You see, every now and then I get fixated on a particular model of car and I grind my teeth, trying to figure out how to acquire one. What normally happens is that the reality of my finances kicks in, I realize that I’m broke, and that the only way I will ever move to another car is to ditch the one that I currently have…and we all know for a fact that there is no way I’ll sell the Imperial for a sum that would ever allow me to buy another car that isn’t in a blister package. Currently, this week I’m dying for a “glasshouse” Impala or Caprice. This is one of my best-known automotive wants, because I’ve owned two, I love the shape, and because the 1977-90 GM B-body is a great platform to build on. This footage is out of Hungary, but all I care about is that this monster Caprice isn’t in my driveway. Ah, life goals…
I don’t know which is cooler, a fast Caprice or drag racing in Hungary with American cars. Great vid
Also have a soft spot for the “Aerocoupes” Impalas! Always what to do a LT1/6spd swap into one of these cars. I can always dream.
Great clips…the GM B body platform is a great foundation.
Speaking of GM B Body cars…what the hell happened to Buford T Justice? When can we expect see an update?
How the hell that thing made it to Hungary, and then got built? That would be a story to tell.
For the glasshouse enthusiast, check out. http://www.gmbbodyforum.com I am not a member, but I should be. I currently own 2.
Happy Motoring!
I had a 79 “aero” caprice in high school, still one of my favorite cars.. Found myself scouring Craigslist the other night to see if I could be reunited with one… No luck yet, and no money lol
