I don’t know if I like or hate this well-worn 1978 Chevrolet G20 van, so I’m asking for your help in pointing out the good and bad with it. The subject of late-night eBay binge (think 2 a.m.), this was the vehicle that made me stop and pause after countless hours of scrolling through tons of other cars. The look is polarizing, isn’t it? It’s like an Airstream was stuffed into the back of a van and made to work…you can tell that it’s distinctly two separate vehicles mated into one rolling platform.

The majority of the package works, but I’m still stunned when it comes to the over-cab sleeping compartment. It looks perfectly functional inside, but outside it looks like someone raided the aircraft boneyard in Arizona and found some kind of exhaust feature that would work as a sleeper. I wouldn’t be shocked in the least if you could smell Jet A inside of it.

The rest of the interior has the typical late-1970s feel to it. There’s a kitchenette and a sink, propane stove and heater, small refrigerator, and a fold-out Futon-style mattress in the back. It has electrical connections, but the owner forgot what voltage they are. That wouldn’t normally be an issue, but the van was built in Canada and is a completely custom piece. We’d suggest a trip to your local RV dealer to make sure.The engine is listed as a “6.0 liter”, so best guess it’s a 400 small block, worst guess is that you’ve got a mystery small block Chevy under the doghouse.

The interior room does look decent, and the van part actually looks solid. But there’s a solid “Breaking Bad” vibe coming through from the pictures. What do you think? Would you rock it or run like hell?
