How Would You Build It? This 1969 Chevy Nova Is A Roller Ready To Be Finished Up!

Any GM X-car with a hole where it’s engine should be is a project waiting to happen. It’s too easy…pick the General Motors V8 of your choice, make sure fuel and spark are present, and go have a riot. Pontiac Ventura? Sounds like the perfect home for a 455SD. Olds Omega? Rocket 350. Buick Skylark? Ask BangShift’s own TheSilverBuick what to do…trust us, he’s got that one down pat. If you like six cylinders, you can jam in a Buick six or Chevy 250 and still have fun. They are almost plug-and-play, all you have to do is make the running gear happen.

Now, bringing up The Dukes of Hazzard on a piece about a Nova might not seem quite right, but bear with me. We all know about the Mopars in the show, but Cooter’s rides were all Chevy when it came to racing, with a 1968 Chevelle and an early 1970s Camaro occupying the roles nicely. And when we look at this Nova, we see a third option for Hazzard County’s own wrench extraordinaire. Add a fuel gauge, tach, and enough Plexiglass to keep you dry and bug-free, drop in a screamer of a small-block, get enough lights on the car to be road legal, and we’d have enough fun on and off the road that sooner or later, a whole fleet of squad cars will end up behind us…though, we bet that they’ll be a lot newer than a lot of Dodge Monacos.
