Morning Symphony: Francesco Sini’s V8 SuperStars/EuroV8 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Ah, V8 SuperStars, the one racing series I could have gotten behind, if the whole racing series-sponsorship deals-cancellation in 2014 bucket of problems hadn’t occurred. For the most part, the series was a touring car series that focused on big sedans with stomping V8s, with a healthy mix of American and European muscle going for broke on the tracks of Europe. Watching a Chrysler SRT8 mixing it up with an Audi RS4 while the Jaguar XFR and the Cadillac CTS-V duke it out sounds like the kind of racing we can back, and while there’s plenty of non-stock look to the racing cars (especially the shopping cart wing all of the cars had) there was no doubt that you were looking at a Mercedes, a BMW, or in this case, a fifth-gen Chevrolet Camaro SS. This LS3-powered monster looks like what happens when Bumblebee the Transformer goes a bit heavy on the steroids, and we like the outcome. Francesco Sini raced this car in V8 SuperStars’ follow-on series, EuroV8, and took the 2014 season championship. Does he sound happy with the car? Let’s see…550 horsepower V8 under the hood, a sequential six-speed, and the cachet of having a Camaro on the continent that is squaring off against the locals? Be honest…even the most hard-core Ferrari nerd on the planet would have a difficult time shutting down an offer to drive this badass.
