BangShift Adoption Services: This 1961 Ford Falcon Is In Need Of A Loving Home!

Whenever I get a text from Jensen Masters at Short Street Rod Shop, I know I’m gonna see some good stuff. From the moment I met the guy three years ago, he has had nothing but some of the most interesting, well-built machines that we’ve seen, and they all are equally drool-worthy. In fact, the only time I’ve come across him without a car from his shop present behind him, one of the vehicles he used to own appeared anyway. But the last message I got from him was a bit off…while he was showing me the cars he’s going to bring to the upcoming Hot Rod Reunion at Bowling Green, he asked if I knew anybody that needed a Ford Falcon. I need another project car like I need a hole in the head, but I hate to see a project car that looks this badass and is just some prettying up away from being really wicked just sitting, waiting for a new owner, so why not let you guys in on the car itself?

SSRS Falcon_5The Falcon is a full tube chassis car, with Aerospace Components disc brakes on all four corners, QA1 adjustable shocks on all four corners, a 4.11-geared Ford 9-inch with Strange axles, and a Mustang II rack and pinion. All of the interior aluminum panels are ready to go back into the car. The engine is a 347 stroker Ford with Trick Flow heads that, according to Jensen, “has never been finished, all new”. The transmission is a bit of a mystery, but he believes that it’s a C4 automatic with a 3,600 stall converter. That would need to be verified, but it’s not too far off – the running gear was yanked from a Mustang that was running 6.0 eighth-miles on pump gas.

SSRS Falcon_1 SSRS Falcon_4 SSRS Falcon_6Why is he selling it? Jensen is the kind of guy that always has another build waiting to go, and while he hasn’t said for sure, we suspect another car has caught his fancy and that the Falcon was the next one on the chopping block. He’s looking to get $15,000 out of the little Ford. For the parts and work already invested into the car, could you duplicate the build for substantially less?

If there is interest, hit up the comments section…we know he’s paying attention. And if you want an idea of the quality of cars that Masters has dealt with as a barometer, you can check out his altered “Two-Timer” Rambler, the “Hustlin’ Hillbilly” pickup truck, and the Henry J from the Short Street Rod Shop.

Nah, Falcon body as a paint carrier doens’t appeal to me.
Persoanlly, I’m pretty tired of the scrapper look, and it sure doens’t fit this era car well.
    IMHO

Well the Falcon is my favourite car, and this one would complement Aunt Flo nicely. Shame I don’t have the $15k she really would look good finished in bright red, parked beside mine.
