Jerry Bird showed up at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park with a mission on hand: win. Pure and simple, he would go walking through the Outlaw class for the $20,000 purse that was being offered, and he had just the weapon handy. It was without a doubt the one car you wouldn’t have expected to see on the line if you haven’t watched Street Outlaws: New Orleans. In a sea of Camaros, Mustangs, and monster musclecars, a Ford Probe sounds…well, when you just say it like that, pretty wimpy, but make no mistake: Bird’s Probe has almost nothing in common with a Craigslist beater besides the body shape. Running an older motor on low doses of nitrous seemed to do the trick all night as the Probe packed away some of the bigger names at the race. Would you have expected to see a Calypso Green Probe kick ass all night?
I seem to remember a Probe that used to make Warren Johnson’s life miserable for years driven by some guy named Glidden or something like that…?
Ya, that’s not the first Probe to kick some serious ass.
