Yes Or No: Is This Nissan 240SX Ute Conversion Trar Cool Or Not?

We’ve seen people do many things with Nissan S14s…drag cars, drift cars, and just about every flavor of rice you can imagine are made with the 240SX and Silvia. They have great handling characteristics, aren’t too bad to look at, and yes, everybody’s favorite engine swap fits just fine, with a strong aftermarket backing. You can buy everything you’ll need to LS-swap your way into glory for one of these cars. But was there something left? Was there an original way to build an S14 that nobody had seen yet?

Yep.

nissan ute 2Meet the 240SX ute. See, it’s not so bad. In fact, it’s kind of likable. All that’s really missing is a bull bar up front, a small one for off-road lights, and you’re set. We wouldn’t be too mad if you yanked the KA24 four-banger and doubled up the cylinder count, but that’s on you. Imagine ripping through the gears of the five-speed manual as you rally your way through some fire roads somewhere. Just do us one favor: please remove the “Buttman” stickers off of the tail lights.

It looks fine just the way it is – will you please stop trying to infect everything with wheels on the planet with the LS virus!

I like it! Lose the stickers, and maybe add a turbo or blower if you need more power… it’s a pretty similar engine to the base motor in the Nissan Frontier as it is, and it’s got a decent aftermarket of its own.
