BangShift Adoption Services: “The Brick” Is Up For Sale! Anybody Interested In One Nasty Grand Cherokee?

It’s big and it’s badass. We’ve seen this beast tear the quarter-mile a brand new one with all four wheels digging down for some semblance of traction. And we were not ready to find a Facebook notice that informed us that it’s up for sale. Harrison Zauke’s “The Brick” 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 has officially been made available. We’ve seen this WK go from a docile idle to moving the **** out in a moment’s notice and to be quite honest, were caught way off-guard seeing it up for sale. It’s a freaking monster and has been good for mid-eights with the all-wheel-drive still in place, and at the Modern Mopar meets we’ve attended, it’s been one of, if not the heaviest hitter to show up.

While we don’t know what has possessed Zauke to decide to sell (his only hint being “New Jeep build will be…a little different”), we can assure anyone that might even think of dropping coin on the WK that your money will go to a good cause…namely, near-overdoses of adrenaline every time you line up against the Christmas tree. That’s what a very stout 6.1-based late-model Hemi with some force-feeding will do. The stats: Best time is 8.30@167 MPH, which has earned him Fastest SRT-8 Jeep honors. Horsepower: just over 1,300. Torque: four-wheel burnouts, and will either hike a front tire or send both spinning while the rears try to dig to China. Trust us, you’ll have more torque than you can stand at your right foot’s discretion.

We are sad to know that The Brick will be moving on, but our instinct tells us that this is only part of a larger scheme of things to come. Zauke is a guy who daily-drives a tweaked-up Hellcat Charger, and the Grand Cherokee used to be in that role before being turned into a race truck. As it sits, there are two ways to approach the sale: for $50,000, you get the WK as-is, which means with no drive shafts or transfer case…prior to whatever changed his mind, the Jeep was in the middle of undergoing a conversion to rear-drive. For another ten grand, he will put shafts and a new transfer case back in and you’re good to go. And just in case you need to see what this monster can do, this is footage from last year’s ChallengerFest/MSHS race at Beech Bend, before the wrap was put on. The audio doesn’t do this thing justice…it sounds like a launching F-16 and moves out like one, too.
