Craigslist Find: This 1994 Cadillac Pickup Conversion Could Be Your Sweet-Riding Parts Hauler!

Craigslist Find: This 1994 Cadillac Pickup Conversion Could Be Your Sweet-Riding Parts Hauler!

It might actually surprise you to know that I have a soft spot for Northstar-powered Cadillacs of the 1990s and 2000s. I shouldn’t…if that engine isn’t 100% perfect, it’s nothing short of a nightmare and of course, the whole front-wheel-drive thing. But I love them, because of a good friend of mine and his 1994 Cadillac Eldorado. You see, my buddy Joe grew to trust me enough to let me drive his emerald green pride and joy every now and then (namely, when he was so drunk that he had no other real option) and I treated his car with the respect he demanded…and good lord, he demanded. I’ve never been told to not sit down so hard in someone’s car before or since. But one night Joe found true love in a bar and abandoned myself and a friend, tossing me the keys to his beloved Eldorado to take back home. All I will say about that drive was that I still don’t believe how that Caddy made that two-hour trip into a 45-minute drive.

But enough reminiscing. What sits before you isn’t a flower car or other funeral freak Caddy. This 1994 Sedan deVille was converted into a ute and honestly, it looks amazing. The colors speak to me…I wonder why…and features such as the power tonneau cover and power tailgate are signs that this wasn’t just a hack up job, but a well thought-out execution. In fact, the only thing I don’t like on the car are the wheels…and that is being nit-picky. But $20,000 asking price…you be the judge if that is a good call or not.

nice but not 20 k nice
because it has a northstar engine in it and the head gasket issues I would not touch it

  2. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

    A convertible pick-uo?

This is so well executed it looks almost factory stock – and deserves the Cadillac badging. FWD actually works as it presents a lower bed and this configuration is common on British and European roads.

So is it worth 20k – well that would probably represent £18-£20,000 complete with shipping to get it to the UK. So I guess the answer is no!

For that money I would expect a yearly appreciating return on my investment, but that shouldn’t take away the supreme workmanship and imagination that has gone into this beauty!
