As most of you know I’m a Camaro guy. Specifically a 1969 Camaro guy. So you can imagine my surprise when, on Craigslist of all places, I found a real deal original ZL1 Big Block for sale. A real 1969 ZL1 engine?Upon reading the ad further I find that it’s not only the block pictured, but everything to go together and be a complete runner. Further down the ad I find that there is also a CAN AM Big Block that is available top to bottom ready to fire! Okay, now these people are just teasing me.
I’ve sent an email. If they are close enough I’ll go touch the parts and take more pictures. In the meantime maybe I should go check out my lottery tickets to see if I’ve won!

Not when your talking Rare High Performance Chevy parts. Heck even a 348/409 parts are NOT cheep. Run of the mill Small Block chevy stuff is.

A later Winters-Yenko block sold for $50K on ebay years back,. The GM factory car installed numbers: 2 Corvettes, 69 Camaro’s. When GM was going to stop production, Yenko bought the rights to have Winters keep making the blocks. He sold and supplied them to racers in the 1970’s.
As long as the major parts are included a lot of the ‘other’ stuff is available. GM parts catalogs even list ZL1 part numbers.
