Rough Start: 1987 Dodge Ramcharger, Ready to Rock

Rough Start: 1987 Dodge Ramcharger, Ready to Rock
For my next Rough Start choice, I moved into my old stomping grounds and searched the Seattle/Tacoma area of Washington State. Prices up here are really decent, and as long as you check closely for rust and mold, you can score some great cars.
My best score ever up here was a ’84 Ramcharger I found on a used car lot in Parkland. I only had it a couple of months and flipped it for a profit of $1000 so I could move to Arizona in 2010. Using that, I decided to go digging for a Mopar truck, and in about two minutes came across this 1987 Ramcharger.

There really isn’t much bad to list. Someone removed the ram’s head hood ornament and swapped it out for the crystal Pentastar off of a Fifth Avenue, I’m not sure the hitch assembly is actually useable, and the engine bay can use a bit of work…and some new dress-up bits. On the good side, you’ve got a 360 powered truck, a clean paint job, a really impressive interior and lots of room. Not much seems to have been messed with, and that’s a very good thing.
I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. $1550 buys the truck, and I don’t see much to do, so what would you do with the remaining $3450?
The Craigslist ad for this Ramcharger can be seen here.
Be sure to give me suggestions for the next Rough Start: locations, type of vehicle…nothing off limits! If it’s on the internet and has wheels, I can find it!
