Ebay Find: The Ultimate Daily Driver 1968 Nova. Grandma Perfect With A Twist

When I say perfect, I mean it. I would drive this Nova, as is, until the fenders fell off of it. Sure a set of Baer brakes, some Ridetech goodies, and a set of Rocket Racing Wheels would make it even better, but I wouldn’t mess this thing up by doing “too much” to it. The great thing about this car is that it’s till got the factory interior, no rust, paint that is just starting to think about patina, and then a great LS and overdrive hidden underneath. Yep, it’s a sleeper engine swap car. The guys at Yates EFI put this one together. It’s a survivor, and it’s floorpans will make most east coasters drool. We want it bad. In fact, I would trade my back half Nova for this thing in a second. I mean right now right now.

Of course I would have to put a Currie 12 bolt in it then, a set of CalTracs bars, widened rear steelies, and maybe a radio. But nothing else I swear. I would street race the piss out of this thing then. Hmmmmmmm. Anyone want my Nova?

A drag radial out back, and this thing is "minto" as Brian would say.

The take out 5.3 will take a 150 shot all day long, and the 4L60e will not sweat it.

Nothing says sleeper like a bench seat. We love them.

Rust free doesn't begin to describe this one.

Sweet ride. I would get some 16″ steelies that will take the stock looking hubcaps and add disc brakes. I would have to add a third pedal and 6 spd tranny. I just can’t figure out how to drive with only 2 pedals. Though maybe it needs a Type “R” badge on the back….but then it wouldn’t be a sleeper…

What a sleeper… I wish I had our ’68 Chevlle manual drum brakes, and manual steering too. radio delete
the LS1 would fit very well in it. I would keep the orig. 307 badge on the fenders too.

“I would street race the piss out of this thing . . . .”

Street racing is not good. Potty mouth is not good. Racing until you need to urinate is not good.

    Kids, don’t copy “Chadmouth” in any way . . . .

BTW, I’d mark the price of this thing way, way up and sell it to a deep-pocketed “true believer” Chevy/LS “mark” and then build something that looked a lot hotter, like a ’69 Mach 1 428CJ R-Code . . . .
