(Words and photos by Bob Chiluk) - Having a true gear head employer, it was easy to talk him into a few days off for a car fix to cure a case of Spring fever. I Spent a few days at the 2013 Charlotte Auto Fair, which is held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The west coast and southeast have the luxury of being able to have automotive events almost year round while the rest of us can only wish for such a fate.
The show is hosted by the Hornets Nest Car Club, the Charlotte Auto Fair is the unofficial kick off to the car show season. It boasts 9000 swap spaces which not only fill the speedway infield, but also take up two additional fields that are just as big outside the track! All those spaces and vendors will surely help you find the Mopar part or moonshine jug you are looking for! The car corral has the cars lined up side by side on both sides of the track surface over the entire mile and a half track length of the oval. If that’s not enough, the South’s best show cars converge and cover the entire front stretch infield.
Be sure to add this show to your to do list!
