Bad Ass Drag Gallery: The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia

Amongst hard core fans of small tire drag racing there are a few truly “must see”  or “must attend” races. “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia”, a race that has quickly becomes one of the premier contests in the country in that genre of drag racing certainly qualifies as a “must”. If you’re somebody, or a nobody looking to become somebody, you need to run this race and test your mettle against the best in the world on small tires. There are a bunch of classes that run, but they all have doors, and they are all haul ass fast.

Because this is an early season event, there is fresh equipment and relatively unmangled budgets that have racers really hanging it out all weekend long. In this gallery, shot by Texan Kevin Blalock, you’ll see a bunch of different class cars represented, some killer wheelstands, and just an awesome collection of drag racing photography.

The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia is a bucket list race for us, and this gallery from Kevin cemented it. Header flames, four foot wheelstands, and perhaps the coolest Chevelle wagon of all time. You need to hit the link below and check it out!

Kevin’s work will be appearing here on BS from time to time as he will be covering some events flying the BS colors! If you are a shooter and are interested in seeing your work appear on the (not so) hallowed pages of BangShift, shoot an e-mail to [email protected]
