(PHOTOS BY CHARLES WICKAM) – One of the things that we pride ourselves on here at BangShift is the fact that we have a diverse and wide open approach to the automotive world. If it makes noise and it burns some sot of fuel, we’re interested in checking it out. There is no bigger evidence of that diversity than looking through the photos that Charles Wickam submitted for his 2014 year in review highlight reel. Lots of these photos were shot in Charles’ home state of Texas but he also ventured to places like Bowling Green for the 2014 Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion and over to Louisiana to blast photos of the ever awesome Leroy Brown Fairmont which is one of the cars that blew up the “cheap LS” craze across the country with its blinding drag strip performances and low buck nature.
Charles has been one of our longest standing contributors and it has been fun to watch his style and work evolve through the years. He was on an awesome drifting kick this year and he came into a neat car cruise scene late in 2014 that brought him to shoot the killer Datsun at the bottom of the page. The state of Texas has just about everything from top fuel dragsters to Formula One. If they can figure out how to freeze a lake down there ice racing will break out in like 30-seconds. If that happens we’re sure that Charles will be there.

Nailed it! I really love the wagon/burger stand photo.
Always good stuff Chuck! Thanks for sharing your travels.
Killin’ it.
I used to work at Addingtons when it was a tractor restoration shop. He always has cool cars that come and go.
Great shots Charles. In a year’s-time I might go to 3-4 different kinds of events because with me its a yearly ‘what am I interested in right now’ thing. Eventually I see just about everything, but you seem to make it out to just about any motorized event all in one year. Cool.
Good stuff Chuck
Charles, you’ve got a hell of an eye for photography. Seeing your work has been a big part of my enjoyment here for the past 5 years.
