Classic Iron At The 2015 NSRA Nationals – The Stuff That Falls Between Muscle Cars And Hot Rods

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – The hey-day of the big three designs were without a doubt in the 50s and 60s.  It was a time when you could barely glance at a car and distinctly tell whether it was a Ford, Chrysler, GM, or any other make.  Big bumpers, fins, chrome and many other distinctive touches played right into the car culture of the times.  People would flock to dealerships to see the new models.

Colors were often muted, but also were quite varied as the days of pre-war mostly-black cars would no longer suffice.  Customers wanted it all – power, comfort, and style so the manufacturers dealt each out in ever-increasing proportions.  Enjoy this collection of roomy cruisers.
