Event Coverage: Ford Cobra Shelby Reunion Celebrates Shelby’s 50th Anniversary

For 50 years the name Shelby has meant high horsepower in small packages and although the reputation started during the golden age of racing in the ’60s, that name and reputation are still growing. 2012 marks the 50th Anniversary of Shelby and events are being held all over the world this year, but two of the biggest are the recent Shelby American 50th Anniversary Bash in Las Vegas and this weekend’s Ford Cobra Shelby Reunion in Pomona that celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Shelby Cobra. Every Ford-powered Shelby you can imagine was on hand at the event including the Original 1963 King Cobra. If you are a Ford Fan, this event is the place for you. Not only were there hundreds of Shelby vehicles at the NHRA MotorSports Museum, more than 50 former or current Shelby employees, and great manufacturers like Baer Brakes and Ford Racing, but also a Panel Discussion that was packed with fans ready to see what Bob Bondurant, Parnelli Jones, Pete Brock, Jerry Grant, Sherry MacDonald (Wife of Dave MacDonald), John Morton and more. There was track time, cruises, and more. We’ll have video from the Panel Discussion sometime next week, but until then check out all the photos we’ve got. More than 175!

Good stuff as always Chad. By the way it was cold and raining in PA today.
