Event Coverage: NHRA Motorsports Museum Twilight Cruise August 2010

The monthly Twilight Cruise at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum is a must see show in Southern California, and we know it. We also know that a ton of you guys hate us for having a dozen other killer “must see” shows each month. Hell, we’re in car guy heaven. This months Twilight Cruise was arguably the best one of the summer, and we have over 200 photos to prove it. We saw Super Duty Pontiacs, Hemis, and Flatheads galore. Plus we got to hang out with Dave McClelland which is always a treat, no matter how often we do it.

After getting to last month’s Twilight Cruise at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum just after 6 and watching some killer cars already leaving, we decided to get there early this month. At 4:30 the Reynolds clan hit the parking lot and were snapping photos like mad. We’ve got over 200 photos of the best cars on the property, and we’re sure you’ll enjoy them.

At the first Wednesday Twilight Cruise at the Wally
Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, hot rodders wait in line for hours
just to grab a good spot for the 4-8pm show. We talked to Tony Thacker who runs the Museum and he told us that guys were lined up at 10am in the parking lot to get their good parking spots in the shade. We hate to break it to them, but it’s easier to shoot photos of the cars in the sun rather than the ones with the shadows of leaves on them. Oh well, these guys were comfortable in the heat and probably had quite a few refreshments throughout the day, so they had us beat!
