I can get used to these “courthouse square” car shows. Usually they are an anything-goes setup that encourages the locals to bring out their rides and hang around, while getting local vendors to grill up some killer food and some local entertainment to turn everything into a block party. How can you lose?
Franklin, Kentucky is the state-line town and is the first exit you hit after crossing the state line from Tennessee. A couple of miles west of Interstate 65 is the historic downtown area, including the courthouse square located centrally. At 5pm the town shut down three of the four roads around the square and started parking cars. There was a pretty even spread of rides to look at, somewhere in the neighborhood of about 150 cars filling up the sidewalks. I’ll let the pictures do the talking, but as you go through the gallery, just think of the smell of burgers on the grille and lemonade as a live band plays all of the classic car-show songs on a stage at sunset.
