(Photos by Elana Scherr) – The rave reviews and fun stories continue to come in from last weekend’s “Run to the Coast” pro touring event, held at the old El Toro Air Base in California. Yesterday we brought you a gallery of photos from Bill Fowler, a BangShifter who participated in the event. Today we have another batch from our pal Elana Scherr who was there taking in all the action as well. Where Bill’s photos showed a lot of the different cars at rest, Elana caught most of them hauling ass around the autocross. The action photos are cool, especially when you start to compare how different cars look going around the same corner. They all have their own attitude, that is for sure.

This event was one of the first contests of the year to be used as a qualifier for the 2012 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational. The little black Sunbeam Tiger that you will see in the gallery below was awarded a spot in the contest, which will be held this November, the weekend following the SEMA show. Other rides of note are a killer orange Pantera, and a totally sweet 1956 Chevy wagon. That’s just two of many!
