Fleming’s Pumpkin Run 2014: More Great Photos From Inside An Old School East Coast Wrecking Yard

Fleming’s Pumpkin Run 2014: More Great Photos From Inside An Old School East Coast Wrecking Yard

(Photos by Joe Grippo) – We’re back with more spectacular photos from Joe Grippo and his recent trip to Fleming’s Pumpkin Run 2014 at Fleming’s junkyard in Egg Harbor, New Jersey. This is a wide open style event where everything from radical pro street and pro touring cars come along with old school hit and miss stationary engines and machines that define the gearhead life. The centerpiece of the event is the ability to roam the wooded scene at Fleming’s and to take in all that is happening here. The cars and trucks have been sitting for decades in some cases and many of them are so far gone that Mother Earth will be putting the finishing touches on them in the next couple of years through her own means of weather and erosion.

While there are many lost causes as mentioned above you’ll see plenty of stuff that could be of use to hot rodders looking for parts and pieces or a guy looking for the ultimate restoration project  in bringing one of these junkyard jewels back into the world of the living. Sometimes we get frustrated when we see cars and trucks that have been sinking into the Earth for long periods of time but in other instances we see them for what they are and in the case of Joe’s photos that is where our head is at. It is pretty peaceful and it is a great mental exercise to stroll through an old yard like this and play the mental game of figuring out how the cars got there, what could be made of them, and how they were optioned and ordered when brand new. You don’t even have to physically be there to do it and these photos are proof. Check them out and let your mind wander.

That’s a cool place know it well. The coolest junkyard ever in NJ was on RT 206 years back. The owner was a tax protestor who lived in a giant Tee-pee and collected things like old blimp gondolas. We thought it was great my parents…something else.

You guys REALLY have to get this location right, it’s NOT in Egg Harbor N.J., it’s in Egg Harbor Township N.J., this may not mean too much to you, but to us locals it’s like saying that the Washington Monument is located in Washington State ………………..
