(All photos courtesy Yvette VanDerBrink) The latest in a recent string of collection auctions isn’t just a random collection of vehicles that were left to fend for themselves. No, instead this is setting up to be a hot-rodder’s treasure chest of cars and parts. VanDerBrink Auctions, the company that was in charge of selling off the Lambrecht Chevrolet collection, will be auctioning off the Bob Koepke collection on April 11, 2015 in Titusville, Florida.

Mr. Bob Koepke was an avid hot rodder, having started with a Model A that he bought off of his brother for $25, and from that moment forward, was a lifetime gear head. Working for Boeing and NASA over the years, he stayed in the Florida area, and over the years amassed a collection of cars and parts. At one point he was friends with Smokey Yunick back during the “Best Damn Garage In Town” days. After a divorce, Bob and his son David would go through swap meets and bring home parts, up until David finished up college and moved back to Indiana. Bob, however, continued to collect up until his passing in November.

The collection is heavy on pre-war Fords and tri-five Chevrolets, but there’s something for everyone. Only two cars are being kept from the auction block: Bob’s original Model A and a ’35 Ford roadster that was a particular favorite, everything else is going up for sale at no reserve. There’s four ’57 Chevy convertibles and seven Nomads, a partially-restored Porsche 356, a ’78 Ferrari 308 that Bob used as a daily-driver, a Pantera that was bought off of an astronaut, a trove of Corvette parts and pieces signed by Smokey Yunick.
