Hot Rod Magazine’s Power Tour 2010 Day 2 Show Coverage

Day 2 of Hot Rod Magazine’s Power Tour was just what we expected. After having a perfectly smooth uneventful first day, many folks, including ourselves, got comfortable with the trip, headed toward the show, and figured the good weather in Springfield Illinois was a good omen. A lot of them spent most of the day trying to complete the 320 mile trip to Springfield, only to arrive just before the show ended. Luckily, we weren’t one of them. But we did have some trouble.

In fact we are writing this blog item from a McDonalds parking lot about 40 miles south of Springfield on our way to tomorrow’s show in DuQuoin. Why? Well, it started out that we were going to grab some grub at the local Denny’s, but after un-successfully navigating their parking lot, we nailed a curb and blew a tire on the Ridetech trailer which we are pulling with their 42 foot motorhome. Oh well. We think we can change it, but we haven’t tried yet. We’re confident that some BangShift ingenuity will prevail.

So, while we thrash on the trailer tire, check out the gallery from today’s show. Note: Our pal Bubba doing his best redneck Paul Revere impersonation. His new twins will be so proud of daddy some day. We’ll have an update in the morning on our adventures as well as a video of Chip Foose talking with us. That is if we can fix the tire quickly.

Until then, click here for all the photos we shot at the show.
