Day One of Hot Rod Magazine’s Power Tour 2010 has been as event filled as your typical Power Tour Week, but we’ve still got almost 150 photos for you to check out. We had rain, sun, broken cars, giveaways, Freaks, and now more rain. Did I mention there were tornado warnings early? Or that we are in a motorhome, which is only one step away from being a mobile home? We were worried that we wouldn’t be able to setup the Ridetech display and give all our BangShift.com Forum Freaks their due this morning, but by noon the weather was Power Tour perfect. Just in time for the Painless Performance opening cruise day.

Ridetech has generously sponsored BangShift’s coverage of the 2010 Power Tour, and we held the biggest Forum Freak meeting in history right beside the Ridetech display where we handed out badges, shirts, hats and decals like mad people. It was great seeing all the folks out having fun, and they weren’t alone. Day one did not dissappoint even though late afternoon clouds darkened the skies and show grounds here in Newton Iowa. The facility was great, the crowd was huge, and everyone was ready for the kickoff of Hot Rod Power Tour 2010.

We’ll be bringing you coverage from the road all week, as well as full show coverage at each Power Tour stop. We’ve also got a video interview with Chip Foose that we’ll have up later after we put a few miles on the motorhome and get out of this weather.
