Rodders Journal Revival 2014: Street Machines, Cruisers, And Customs – Neat Cars Galore

Rodders Journal Revival 2014: Street Machines, Cruisers, And Customs – Neat Cars Galore

I’ve got to admit to being buried with awesome submissions from our contributors all over the globe this fall. In fact, I am finally getting my act together and catching up on some stuff from shows and events that happened way back which were submitted and I am finally getting to run. Between our own normal daily avalanche of content and all of the big news happening in the gearhead world lately, stuff has been moved, bumped, and back burner’d until now! This is our second to last look at cars from the 2014 Rodders Journal Revival show which happened at the Pimlico Race Course late in the summer. Joe Grippo was there and was have run lots of his coverage from the event. Gassers, traditional hot rods, and other cars have been covered but we had yet to run his images of customs, cruisers, and street machines from the show. These are probably some of the most real world and most often driven rigs on the property, making them the BangShifty-est of them all.

While we’re not versed in the world of traditional 1950s and 1960s customs, we love their looks and what guys were willing to do to cars back them is pretty amazing when you look at it in a modern context. It was no small feat to gas weld all kinds of stuff together and make wild changes to the exterior look like they were there all along with the tools our forefathers had available to them but they did it. There are some fantastic cars, engines, and paint jobs in this one. You’ll love it.

Thanks to Joe Grippo for all the great photos!

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

Help! I am welded to my computer monitor!

I have been attempting to lick the image of that lovely flamed custom. My Gentleman’s area is all inflamed.

All I can say is that if I had that baby in my garage I would be committing acts of extreme autophilia on it!

    NNNNNNNnnnnnnnnnnnnng AAAAaaaaaaaah Gasp!
