Show Coverage: Freaks, Geeks, And Cool Iron From The Hot Rod Riot Car Show – Victoria, Texas

(Photos by Charles Wickam) – As we move into fall across the country, car show season really ramps up for one last major blast before the winter. Temps in places like Texas get cool and comfy and people really take advantage but getting out in the nice weather with their stuff. After sweating through a tough summer, it is always nice to roll around in air that does not feel as though it was generated by a convection oven. Recently our own Charles Wickam attended the 3rd annual Hot Rod Riot car show in Victoria, Texas. The event was a wide open affair that drew cars as diverse as the automotive interests of the great state of Texas. Huge trucks, haulers, rat rods, finished customs, and a whole lot more packed the show location. Bands played, pinup girls strutted proudly around, and the best part was that the show was wide open and free to the public.

We broke the photos Charles took down into two galleries for your viewing pleasure. Here’s the first and it is filled with some freaky cars, geeky cars, killer trucks, and a great cross section of what showed up to the event. You know us, the wider the net gets cast on this stuff the more we like it and seeing a lifted mud bogging Dodge at the same event as a bunch of t-buckets and other rides is totally our speed!

Thanks to Charles Wickam for the photos!
